FAQ - Frecuent Asked Questions

What is Crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a method of raising capital or funds for a project or venture by collecting small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via online platforms. This funding model allows individuals, businesses, or organizations to present their projects or ideas to a broad audience, and people who are interested in supporting the project can contribute financially.

There are various types of crowdfunding, including:

Reward-Based Crowdfunding: Contributors receive non-monetary rewards, such as products, services, or experiences, in return for their financial support.

Equity Crowdfunding: Investors receive a share of the ownership or equity in the project or company in exchange for their financial backing.

Debt Crowdfunding (Peer-to-Peer Lending): Contributors lend money to the project or individual, and the borrower agrees to repay the loan with interest.

Donation-Based Crowdfunding: People contribute funds without expecting any financial return. This type is often used for charitable or personal causes.

Popular crowdfunding platforms include Kickstarter, Indiegogo, GoFundMe, and Seedrs, among others. Crowdfunding has become a popular alternative financing option for startups, creative projects, and individuals looking to bring their ideas to life.

Time-Math will use Reward-based Crowdfunding.

How will Time-Math use Crowdfundig platform?

Time-Math will be announced exclusively on a Crowdfunding platform.

There will be 3 models to select from: Basic Version, Medium Version and Large Version. You'll also have to select how many units you want and if you would like any add-ons. Once you have selected the items you want, you'll need to apply for payment. Payment will only be applied by the Crowdfunding platform in case of a successful campaign.

The campaign will have a minimum amount of funds to be successful. If this amount is not reached, you'll receive a complete refund. In case the campaign is successful, we'll receive the funds from the Crowdfunding platform and will start with the whole process to bring you the devices you have ordered. This process will take several months for: planning, designing, testing, manufacturing and sending logistics.

Funding campaign will last only for a month, more or less.

People that have left us their email, will be informed just before launching of the campaign.

There will also be an Early Bird option. This option will only available for a few days and with a limited quantity. The price will be lower than without this option. Early Birds will also receive their Time-Math devices at first.

We'll inform you frequently about our progress.

Several funding goals beyond the minimum funding goal may result in an improved version of Time-Math.

These are just general rules of Crowdfunding platforms. Please get precise information at the corresponding Crowdfunding platform. We'll inform you which platform we'll select.

Why have you set the minimum funding goal that high?

The fixed costs to produce Time-Math are quite expensive, so we need to produce a minimum quantity of around 400 units, to keep the costs affordable.

Is the power adaptor included?

No. The power adaptor is not included. Nevertheless it's a simple USB-C adapter with low-power requirements. We may provide you the references to power adaptors we have tested and have been performing on an excellent way.

What are the power adaptor's requirements?

The requirements are quite low. A USB-C with 15W will do.

Are the units prepared to be used outdoors?

The units haven't received any special treatment for extreme temperatures or humidity. They must be operated at normal temperatures & humidity that most electronic devices may support.

If powers have been disconnected, will I have to setup time again?

No. Time-Math includes a RTC (Real Time Clock) with a small battery that can last for many years. So when you power up the unit again, present time is still there. The first time, when you receive the unit, you'll have to setup your local time.

WiFi & other adjustmentes will also be saved i case of power loose.

Will the RTC battery be included?

That depends on possible restrictions on your country at sending time. If those restrictions exist, we'll not include the battery and you'll have to obtain one: CR1220. They are easy to find.

What are the main differences between Basic (Home), Medium and Large version?

They all share exactly the same functionality, but with different screen sizes. The small version has a 64x32 LED screen and the Medium and Large have 128x64 LED, with different pitch & brightness. The Large version has just a larger screen than the Medium version.

Do I need to setup the Internet configuration?

Not if you don't need it. You'll be able to use Time-Math, with its 8 levels of difficulty. If you need to change anything, you may do it using the tilting capabilities of Time-Math, but you'll need to have the device in your hands to configure it.

You must be aware that there are many of things you won't be able to do, like e.g. messaging.

Internet setup seems a bit tricky

Ok, that's somehow right. You'll have to setup an account on our HW provider's site, that will take you a few minutes. Than you'll have to setup your own Internet Control Panel at their site; it should take you a bit less than an hour.  This isn't complicated if you have some experience using computers. In the manual you have a thorough explanation of how to perform this. If you believe that it's preferible that someone else does this, you'll maybe  may find someone to do it for you. We suggest that you download the manual and try to find out if you'll be able to do it. You may even create everything before you have received your Time-Math device.

If you still prefer that we do it for you, we can do it at a cost. You just provide us with your user & password (you can change your password after we've created your Control panel) and we'll create your CP.

I have more than one device, do I have to setup several Internet Control Panels?

No.

“One account to rule them all, one account to find them, one account to bring them all and in the math of time, bind them”

You'll just have to configure each device with a proper ID which will allow you to manage them individually or grouped together in groups you define.

The Control Panel seems a bit confusing, as several controls perform different actions

Yes, that's right. The Control Panel depends on our HW electronic provider. As user (you) of their electronic parts, you can use their (free) IO account which allows you to have your own Control Panel. But this free account has some limitations, like: maximum of 10 Feeds. So we've had to put more than 10 functionalities in only 10 Feeds. But this works quite well and interactions with CP is not that high.

We'll need to control many time-Math units. Do we have any restrictions?

First of all this will depend on your use, interacting with the devices. It will also depend on the number of devices you need to control.

If you have an important interaction flow or/and many devices, you'll maybe have to power up your free IO account to IO+. This is a service that you can contract directly with our HW electronic provider. At this moment the cost of this service is of 100$ a year. This may also enhance your possibilities with your Control Panel, but for this you'll have to talk with us.

You only need 1 IO+ account to control all your devices.
